Making It!

Principally, a group
of figures by the final year students who graduated in July 1997. They
were modelled in clay from life and cast in either fibreglass or Jesmonite.
Figurative life modelling is a core study on the Technical Arts Interpretation
course and extremely popular with students at present. The tutor on
the project was Valerie Charlton who for many years worked as a special
effects model maker in the film industry. Valerie was a close associate
of Terry Gilliam and worked on all his films up to, and including, Baron
Munchausen.
